Three Golfers Earn Titles at Prestigious Las Vegas Women’s City Am 2026

LAS VEGAS (May 31, 2026)–Madison Perez (Championship), Jane Lee (Net) and Olga West (Senior) won titles in the 2026 Las Vegas Women’s City Amateur. The two-day Nevada Golf Southern Region major tournament was held May 30-31, 2026, at Las Vegas Golf Club as part of the prestigious Las Vegas City Am Week.–by Bill Bowman

Championship

Madison Perez played a four-hole stretch in three-under-par (two birdies, an eagle and a bogey) midway through the final round and won the Championship Division by four strokes.

To add to her winning round, Perez added three straight birdies late to seal the victory.

Perez, who will be a senior at Faith Lutheran High School this fall, has committed to play for UNLV in 2027.

“I just went out and tried to play consistent golf,” she said. “On the back nine, my putter was really good and that’s what got me the win.”

She added the two rounds were like night and day.

“Yesterday was a little bit rough,” she said of the opening round. “I wasn’t happy with the way I played, especially the last few holes. Today was much better and my putter really came through.”

That putting prowess included a stretch of three-under-par over four holes as she made the turn.

“That got me thinking positive thoughts,” she said. “I also made a couple of seven-foot par putts that really kept me going.”

Now she’s hoping this win kickstarts her game.

“The win definitely gives me confidence going into my summer tournaments,” she said. “This will give me good prep for my senior season. And the win puts me on a good track.”

Jane Lee had five net birdies in a six-hole stretch and won the Net title in a scorecard playoff over Kelly Talmadge. It was Lee’s first individual title in Nevada Golf Southern Region play.

Lee added a net eagle late in the round to help her get into the scorecard playoff.

Lee was coming off a Net victory in the 2026 Nevada State Women’s Quad organized by Nevada Golf.

“My putting today was very good,” Lee said.

Lee added her driver was key.

“I’m a longer driver and that really helps me,” she said.

Lee said her game is still a work in progress.

“I only started golf six years ago,” she said. “One day my game is good and one day it is bad.”

She said the win will help her going forward.

“I’m really, really happy with my playing and to win,” she said.

Senior

Olga West put a pair of birdies on the scorecard in the second round and cruised to an eight-shot victory in the Senior Division.

It was West’s first victory in Nevada Golf Southern Region play.

“I’ve only been here for two years,” she said of her move from San Diego after living there for 35 years.

“I retired and moved to the warmth,” she said with a laugh.

She said her play over the two days was solid.

“I played two pretty good rounds,” she said. “You always leave something on the course but overall, I was happy.”

West added her play around the green made the difference.

“When I didn’t hit the green, I chipped up to within six feet or so and made a lot of putts,” she said. “I really rolled the putts pretty well.”

She said the victory boosted her mindset.

“Winning allows me to think I can compete,” she said. “It’s really different when you’re competing in a tournament and any time you do well in a tournament, it’s going to help your game and your confidence going forward.”
