LAS VEGAS (June 5, 2026)–Ed Fryatt (Senior) and David Foggia (Silver) won gross titles at the 2026 Las Vegas Senior City Amateur. Brian Freymueller (Senior) and Michael Tanimoto (Silver) won net titles in the Nevada Golf Southern Region tournament, the year’s second major, held June 4-5, 2026, at Las Vegas Golf Club.–by Bill Bowman

Ed Fryatt won for the fourth time in 2026, opening with an eight-under-par 64 en route to a four-stroke victory.
Fryatt posted his only bogey of the tournament on his opening hole of the first round before recording 10 birdies and an eagle over the final 35 holes.
“Yesterday I hit it a little better and made a lot more putts,” Fryatt said. “Today I hit it decent but I just didn’t make anything. The course giveth and the course taketh away…but today it didn’t giveth.”
Fryatt is on a whirlwind golf timeframe. He spent a few days in Colorado, just missing advancing in U.S. Senior Open qualifying. He then flew back to Vegas to play in the Senior portion of the Las Vegas City Amateur and then wrapped up his tour with play in the weekend Championship Division.
“This event just means so much to me,” he said. “It’s special. I won it a few times in a row when I was a young kid and if you told me when I was 22 that I would win the Senior Am, well, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.”
But here he is, with the trophy in his hands.
“I just played two solid rounds,” he said. “Joe (Sawaia) was right there but made a late double bogey so I just had to avoid making any mistakes coming in.”
Fryatt said winning the majors is always an honor.
“There are always great fields,” he said. “Nevada Golf is doing a great job when it comes to tournaments. But there’s something special about the Las Vegas City Amateur. It’s always at Muni and it always brings back memories. You remember the course and all the holes. You remember certain shots you’ve hit in the past. It’s just an amazing place.”
Fryatt said his win in the Senior Division will have a special place in his heart.
“This was a special day,” he said. “It was six years ago that my dad (Jim) passed. There were so many times that he, well, the whole family, would be there for me. Anyone who knew me back then knew dad was there at every tournament. It was always special. He would give me a smile or a nod that he was proud of me. I talked to my mom this morning and he’s still with us. He’s still with me in how I try to carry myself. I’m glad I could honor him today.”

Brian Freymueller broke free of a logjam at the top of the leaderboard (seven players tied at -3 after the first round) to pick up the victory in a scorecard playoff over Michael Kerr.
A three-hole birdie barrage (two natural and one net) and a birdie (net eagle) on his 16th hole of the final round were keys in Freymueller’s charge.
“I didn’t have a good start,” he said of his opening round. “I was four-over after five holes and thinking ‘Is this how it’s going to be?’ Then I made a birdie and followed it up with another birdie to get back on track and played the last 31 holes pretty solid.”
Freymueller said his work on the greens was the main reason for the solid play.
“The last week and a half I played about every day,” he said. “I had a really good groove going and I was comfortable with the contact I was making and confident where the ball was going. It was just a matter of if the putts were going to fall and for the most part, a lot of them fell. I was happy with my reads and my speed was good. I did have some lip out and burn the edges, but for the most part, my putting was very good.”
It was Freymueller’s second major as he also won the 2024 Clark County Senior Amateur.
“There’s just a little something more about majors,” he said. “You want to win any tournament you enter, but with the majors, there’s a nice trophy and you’re going up against some of the strongest fields.”

David Foggia won his first gross title of the year and second overall in 2026. He won the Silver Net title at the 2026 Desert Inn Classic in February.
Foggia won this title on the first playoff hole with a birdie, beating Bruce Pape.
“This is my first major and it feels great,” Foggia said. “The field is really strong and I’m proud that I withstood the pressure. Winning a major is definitely a great feeling. You’ve got all the top players and that adds to the pressure and the prestige.”
Foggia said the final round was eventful including a pair of scrambling pars that kept the momentum going.
“I made par on No. 7 and it was a big swing,” he said. “I hit it into the oleanders off the tee and had to chip out. I stuffed it in and made par and that was huge. I also hit it right on 18, the ninth hole of the round, and had just 120 yards in. But I had a big tree limb I had to hit it under. I hit a half seven-iron to keep it low and hit it to about 10 feet. I missed the birdie putt but it was still a great par.”
Foggia said the tournament week is a special one.
“I think it’s the best tournament we have,” he said. “You have all the different divisions, all the best players and it’s there all week. It just seems a little more special. It’s certainly a tournament you point to and one I’m proud to win. This was just great.”

Michael Tanimoto won for the second time in 2026, posting an eight-shot victory in the Silver Net Division.
Tanimoto also won the Silver Net Division in the season-opening Tournament of Champions.
