The North won the 2025 event in the tournament that was held at Somersett Country Club in Reno. The victory snapped a two-year win streak by the South squad.

Katie Keller, co-captain of the North team along with Dana Chaikin, said the team is ready to defend its title.

“We’re going to do everything we can to hang on to the trophy,” Keller said. “We’re just going to be as prepared as we can be and perform the best we can when the time comes.”

Keller added the team’s main goal is getting to know Las Vegas Country Club as quickly as possible.

“We’ll see how we do in Round 1 and go from there,” she said. “Hopefully we improve with more experience on the course.”

On the other side of the battle, South co-captain Autumn Dorino (along with her co-captain and sister Christina Brandt), said the South team wants the trophy back in the hands of the South squad.

“We’re super excited to be playing to get the Cup back,” Dorino said. “We want to make sure we play well and they don’t repeat.”

Keller said the North team has come together and is ready to go.

“We’ve had a lot of conversation with the team in setting up the lineup,” she said. “We’re making sure everyone’s happy with it and they could practice during the summer. It’s smooth going right now. They know we will lose matches and they know we will win matches. They just have to stay on an even keel and perform their best.”

Dorino said the South team has also spent plenty of time making sure they are as prepared as possible.

“They have all put in a lot of work,” she said. “And they are excited to play the best golf they can. I tell them…next shot, best shot. Keep a steady head and do the best you can.”

Dorino said the Silver Cup is the pinnacle for women’s golf in the state and the tournament is one that everyone’s ready to take on.

“It’s the most prestigious event for women’s golf, hands down,” she said. “And these two teams are very evenly matched. It’s in every golfer’s hands. It’s three days of grinding. It’s going to be a great event…and may the best team win.”
