ELKO (Sept. 13, 2026)–The teams of Shane Gastelecutto-Tristan Sulzmann (Net) and David Longoni-Lee Marks (Senior Net) won titles in the 2026 Men’s Team Series at Ruby View. The three-day Nevada Golf Northern Region tournament was held Sept. 11-13-2026, at Ruby View Golf Course.–by Bill Bowman
The teams played three different formats in the event: A scramble followed by a four-ball round and wrapping up with a modified alternate shot format in the final round.

Three net eagles in a four-hole stretch in the middle best-ball round propelled the team of Shane Gastelecutto and Tristan Sulzmann to a 13-stroke win in the Net Division.
Sulzmann posted all three net eagles in that stretch while the team also added three eagles (two net and one natural) in the final round and one net eagle in the first round.
It was the team’s first win of 2026.
“We golf together all the time but this was the first time we played in a team event together,” Sulzmann said.
Sulzmann said the gameplan was simple.
“I just told Shane to get us in play and I could then swing freely and he did that well,” Sulzman said. “As long as we had something in play we were in good shape.”
SUlzmann added the play on the greens couldn’t have gone much better.
“The putter was on fire…especially Saturday,” he said. “It seems like everything we hit went in. We started on No. 18 as our first hole and made about an eight-footer right in the middle. That got our confidence going and it seemed like everything within 15 feet was going in.”
Sulzman said there is still work to be done.
“We did have a couple of bad holes,” he said. “We just made a couple of dumb mistakes but they were easy to correct.”

Senior Net
David Longoni and Lee Marks posted five straight birdies in the opening round en-route to winning the Senior Net crown.
It was the first win of 2026 for the duo.
Marks was quick to point out the birdie string was definitely needed.
“We didn’t start out well at all,” he said. “We double bogeyed the first hole and that’s never good but in a scramble it’s really not good.”
But the duo bounced back.
“We did settle down and then went on that birdie streak and had our games going in the right direction,” he said. “It was the first time we played together as a team and it wasn’t real promising at the start but we got it going in the right direction.”
Marks added the two will definitely be playing together in future team events.
“We definitely know each other’s game a little better now,” Marks said. “And what I can say is we both definitely need to work on our chipping going forward.”
