John Turk, 74, is a living legend, on and off the course. His decorated 23-year military career included helping to plan Desert Storm and intercepting a Russian bomber in mid-air. And more.
In honor of Veterans Day 2026, our Magnetic Member video details his golf and military experiences.
On the course, he has shot a 58, has 18 holes-in-one and won many Nevada Golf and other prestigious tournaments including the National Military Golf Championship.
Highlight from the Video and his best golf accomplishments:
“At the Friday men’s game at Melbourne (Australia) Municipal, I shot 58,” Turk said. “I had 11 birdies and an eagle. I’ve also had 18 holes-in-one, 28 rounds with nine birdies and three rounds with 10 birdies. The one that sticks out was in Macon, Georgia. There was a 20-mile-an-hour wind in my face on a 230-yard par 3. I hit a 1-iron and made a hole-in-one. I didn’t see it go in, but I saw 400 people on the deck all rise up and start cheering. That let me know it probably went in the hole.”
