LAS VEGAS, Nev.–As the WSNGA’s Team Play Series heads into the second half of the season, it’s time for the strategy to begin. Brooke Hempel, Team Play co-coordinator, said the Blue and Red Divisions are tight and just might get tighter as teams battle for spots in the 2026 finale, scheduled for May 21, 2026, at the Arroyo Golf Club. –by Bill Bowman, Las Vegas Golf Insider. “A lot of the top teams aren’t surprises,” Hempel said. “The teams like Boulder City, DragonRidge, Canyon Gate and Chimera are really good at the top. But, there are also other teams that are making the competition very close and that’s exciting to see.”
Hempel said the 2026 season has been great right from the start.
“Overall, everyone’s back in the swing of things and with the weather, it’s just been great,” she said. “Even times we thought the weather was going to be bad, we wound up not getting the bad weather.”
Now, it’s time to focus on finishing strong.
“All of the divisions are tight,” Hempel said. “Now it’s a matter of each team’s goals…whether they are going for the overall, the gross or net divisions. That’s where the strategy comes into play in picking players who give you the best chance to get into the playoffs.”
And Hempel is quick to point out that making the playoffs can come down to a single player.
“We tell them all the time…every point counts,” she said. “You just never know. It just might come down to the final match on the final day.”
