LAS VEGAS (July 1, 2026)–Ryan Flynn jumped out early and cruised to the gross title in the 2026 Women’s State Amateur organized by Nevada Golf. The three-day tournament was held June 29-July 1, 2026, at the Hills Course at the Red Hawk Golf and Resort. –by Bill Bowman

Ryan Flynn was four-under-par over her first three holes of the tournament, going eagle, birdie, birdie, and never looked back in winning the crown.
She won the title by 11 strokes and said the tournament brought out the best in her game.
“Physically it’s always been there for me,” she said. “But mentally it’s been more of a challenge. A win like this will go a long way going forward.”
Flynn was under-par on the first hole each day, posting an eagle, a birdie and a birdie.
“Getting off to a good start is always great,” she said. “I used to tell myself to make a birdie before I make a bogey. It’s just an extra boost of confidence.”
Flynn said her work on the greens was the key.
“I putted really well,” she said. “I rolled it nicely and my lag putting was really good, too. I saw the lines and just executed well. It’s nice to get that positive feeling on the greens.”
She also credited her caddies for her performance.
“I had my swing coach and then my mental coach out there on the bag for me the first two days and then dad (Doug) caddied for me today,” she said.
Dad wound up being the best of the three caddies as Flynn kept up the pressure in the final round. She posted six birdies through her first 15 holes with a lone bogey on the 16th as her only over-par score of the day.
“He’s been on the bag for me a lot,” she said. “He does a great job and keeps me focused.”
While in high school, Flynn won a pair of 3A individual Nevada high school state championships at Truckee High School and has just graduated from the University of Alabama where she played on the golf team.
“I’m going to turn pro in the fall,” she said. “I’m planning on going to Q-School and give it my best shot.”
Nevada Golf continues to entice top women amateurs to play in the Nevada State Women’s Amateur to meet the criteria to have an entry into the U.S. Women’s Amateur to the champion.
