GHIN Challenge FAQs

The GHIN Challenge is a fun new way to compete through the rounds of golf you’re already playing. Instead of playing in a traditional tournament at a specific time and place, you play qualifying rounds at a participating course during the Challenge period. Post your scores through the GHIN Mobile App and see how you stack up on the leaderboard.

No. That’s one of the best parts of the GHIN Challenge. You can play your qualifying rounds on your own schedule during the Challenge period. You don’t have to play alongside the other golfers in the competition or show up for a designated tournament tee time.

You can play qualifying rounds at participating Nevada golf courses. VIEW PARTICIPATING COURSES

You can find the current list of Challenges and dates here. Nevada Golf will add new Challenges across the state in 2027.

First, play an eligible round at a participating course and post your score using the GHIN Mobile App. After posting your score, look for the invitation to join the GHIN Challenge. Follow the prompts in the app to join.

You can play and post an eligible round first, then receive the invitation to join the Challenge.

The Nevada GHIN Challenge requires one qualifying round to join the challenge, and three qualifying rounds to see your position on the leaderboard.

GHIN Challenges use net scores, which account for your handicap. This allows golfers with different levels of playing ability to compete against one another.

Your best three net scores during the Challenge period determine your leaderboard position.

Yes, definitely. You can continue playing and posting qualifying scores throughout the Challenge period. Your best three scores will be used for the leaderboard.

A net score takes your handicap into account. For example, if your Course Handicap is 10 and you shoot 85, your net score would be 75. This allows golfers with different handicaps to compete in the same Challenge.

A golfer must have an active GHIN number under Nevada Golf.

Participation in the GHIN Challenge is free. Golfers are responsible for any normal green fees or other charges associated with playing a participating golf course.

Worldwide Golf Shop gift cards will be awarded to the top three finishers in each Challenge.

  • 1st place
    $100 gift card
  • 2nd place
    $50 gift card
  • 3rd place
    $25 gift card

You can follow your position throughout the Challenge and see how you stack up against the other participants on the leaderboard for the GHIN Challenge that you have joined. View GHIN Challenges. Link to the Current Challenges on the main GHIN Challenge page.

All rounds must be 18 holes and played at participating courses during the designated Challenge period. Additional restrictions may apply.

No. If you start another challenge at a different course, the system will prompt you to leave your current challenge.

More GHIN Challenges are coming to Northern Nevada in Spring 2027. The active season for posting scores for Northern Nevada courses is March 15-November 30. Scores from rounds played locally in Northern Nevada cannot be posted from December 1-March 14 because winter weather and course conditions do not reflect normal playing capabilities. However, if you travel to a location with an active handicap season during Northern Nevada’s winter, you can still post those scores to your GHIN account.
